Updated: Mar 18, 2020

We all love crystals they are stunning displays of Mother Nature at her most beautiful self. They help assist us in such an energetic and positive way. There are some crystals which have an amazing journey of creation.

Lightning Struck Quartz "Flash Stone"

Flash stone or lightning quartz are just a story to themselves and only found in the Serra Do Esphinhaco mountains of Brazil. In this region, orographic thunderstorms happen often in this region and the lightning strikes the side of the mountain. These spectacular specimens are formed when the lightning hits the mountains and travels through the earth, striking the quartz. Evidence is shown by the zig zig pattern left on the crystal. With the rapid heating and cooling of the quartz and extremely high temperatures, it allows for inclusions of beta quartz and cristobalite to be formed in the crystal. This can only be obtained with temperatures above 573 degrees Celsius and 1, 715 degree Celsius respectively. This makes lightning struck quartz and extremely high vibrational, rare, highly prized and sought-after specimen for dealers and collectors.

Moldavite Moldavite is found only near the Vltava River in Czechoslovakia. It is a form of tektite (meteorite) and formed millions of years ago by a meteorite impacting the earth approx. 12 millions years ago causing a creator and the meteorite to fragment and form deposits over several places in the area. With the extreme high vibration of the crystal holding both earth and son say extra terrestrial qualities make this prized and sought-after collectors' piece. Colours can vary from light to dark.
